The hand is controlled by the brain. The right hand is controlled by the left hemisphere of the brain and the left hand is controlled by the right hemisphere. The brain sends signals to the hand, telling it what it wants it to do.
Two muscle groups take that message and accomplish movement in the hand. Extrinsic muscles extend from the forearm in the form of flexors and extensors. Intrinsic muscles are located inside the hand.
Extensors straighten the fingers out. Flexors allow the fingers to bend and grasp. The thumb has two flexors that help with holding onto objects.
The brain signals the muscles in the arm, wrist and hand to cooperate by using the extrinsic and intrinsic muscles to move the hand. With its impressive number of bones and joints, the hand can be used as a tool, or a means of communication.
The hand is one of the most sophisticated aspects of the human body. With it we can operate tools, articulate ideas, or perform delicate tasks, such as surgery or needlework. The combination of muscles, tendons and bone and their direct communication with the brain allowed humans to develop."
Now I have no problem with this article until it gets down to the part where the writer it is setting the stage for some evolution garbage. The writer just told us a marvel about how the hands work but then wants to say they happened by accident over time. So let's look for some volunteers I propose we put all the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle in a bag and assign people to shake the the bag days and sleep with it nights until we can look in the bag and see the puzzle put together. Yet seemingly intelligent people believe this exact thing and teach it to others as if it were a scientific fact. Am I insane or does objectivity point to higher intelligence and a maker as a better explanation? I hear a lot of talk about prayer this past week so when you pray cup your hands in faith and believe your prayer is heard. God is a spirit therefore invisible and the kingdom of heaven is near...not in a galaxy far, far, away. Jesus really did make a way for all of us to know grace, forgiveness, and the crazy love of a father who is closer than your next breath. He is not looking for righteous people but butt heads like me who know they need him.
